What does it mean to contribute to the Agenda 2030?

It means contributing to the fulfillment of present and future life without leaving anyone behind.

How?

  1. First, SEE the situation as it is and ACCEPT it, before trying, if necessary, to ACT in response. This is the key to identifying the RIGHT ACTION for the situation.

  2. The appearance of an emotion or tension shows that we don't see the situation as it is, or that we refuse to accept it. ACCEPT the emotion to facilitate the RIGHT ACTION.

  3. Call on MEDIT-ACTION BE THE LOVE

  4. Remember that THERE IS NO IDEAL POLICY OR PROJECT, but rather actions adapted to a TERRITORIAL CONTEXT, taking into account its economic, social and environmental dimensions.

  5. Secondly, make sure that the action envisaged has POSITIVE IMPACTS on the subject for which it is designed: the least you can do!

  6. Also ensure that it has NO NEGATIVE IMPACTS on other subjects for which its designers have no particular expertise and are far from their field of expertise.

  7. Set FIGURE OBJECTIVES to be achieved in terms of impact by a given date.

  8. Define a TRAJECTOIRE of the impact of actions between the time they are implemented and the final date set for their completion.

  9. Identify INDICATORS to monitor the impact of these actions

  10. Build a FOLLOW-UP MECHANISM to correct the trajectory in the event of failure

  11. Establish a GOVERNANCE PLACE AT THE RIGHT TERRITORIAL LEVEL, bringing together the various stakeholders involved in the action, and providing a forum for collective intelligence to improve the action, report on its impact, correct its trajectories in the event of failure, establish compromises, and even make trade-offs if necessary.

For steps 3 and 4, you need to TAKE INTO ACCOUNT THE COMPLEXITY OF THE WORLD AND THE INTERDEPENDENCE BETWEEN ALL THE CHALLENGES TO BE MET. Human intelligence allows us to do this, even if it's not a common exercise and can be seen as difficult.

That's why, for various major areas of activity around the world, free, easy-to-use ONLINE APPLICATIONS in several languages, which do not require any knowledge of the Agenda 2030, are appearing to facilitate these two stages. They enable you to assess the positive and negative impacts of an action in relation to the 169 targets of the Agenda 2030 targets, integrate the systemic dimension of the Agenda 2030 and produce an assessment in around an hour.

The first online application since March 2022 was designed by the Partenariat Français pour l'Eau with the support of SDG Champions France: https://www.water4allSDGs.org

SDG Champions France is working with UNESCO, the French Ministry of Ecological Transition and the French National Commission for UNESCO to design a second application on education: Education4allSDGs. Others will follow: mobility, building and public works, household waste...

This type of approach makes it possible to integrate our actions into a global dynamic aiming for the same objectives and using a shared language and working method. It also makes it easier for funding agencies to finance projects and policies, as they gradually incorporate it into their evaluation criteria.

To support these initiatives, SDG CHAMPIONS France offers training programs for a wide range of audiences, based on the principles set out above.
